The Hired Belly’s better half is lovingly referred to as Partner in Calories, who, for many years, has been making cameo column appearances.
It was ‘P-i-C’ who first turned us onto Harry Potter, dragged our initially cynical self to the very first movie; and has since shared her passion for J.K. Rowling’s truly remarkable grand opus —as well as just about everything else remotely Potter-esque ever since.

And Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans. In a moment of craziness, I tried the dirt-flavoured ones and they weren’t that bad. Didn’t have the nerve to try the earthworm-flavoured ones. : P
It’s an interesting book with lots of very traditional ye olde English dishes. I could pass on the Blood Sausage but recipes like Beef and Guiness stew and Treacle pudding are appealing.
