Brian Fowke: Happy to be back foraging, but not so rare this time, Tim Pawsey photo

Brian Fowke… Time to move on.  Tim Pawsey photo

Fresh daily proponent Brian Fowke says it’s time to move on from his cherished Kitsilano Daily Kitchen, which will now become AnnaLena …

This from today’s mail:
“I have just put my chef’s knife down for the last time at Kitsilano Daily Kitchen. With a tear in my eye I must say I have lived some of the best years of my life in this kitchen – because of all of you who believed in this quirky little restaurant that opened five years ago with no sign or menu…I am very sad it is over, but I am happy with everything we accomplished; a great restaurant run by the passion of a great team – 14,000 menu ideas later I have completed what I set out to do. I believe we have all made Vancouver a better restaurant city and culture with our passion to explore everything local, sustainable and organic. We have all done a great job!.

It is time for my good friend Mikey Robbins to take over the room and run with his passion. Its going to be a great ride for him – he knows his food and is at the top of his game. www.annalena.ca “

Again, thank you everyone for the past five years, you have all been so good to me – I have enjoyed every minute on the stoves at Kitsilano Daily Kitchen.
